GVGateway.net Updates

We have found that some users have been having problems completing the signup and activation process. Our QA testing has found that accounts with single and double quotes (and perhaps some other special characters as well) in their passwords may have trouble and be told their login credentials and password do not match.

We now believe that these issues have been successfully addressed and hope that potential users who initially encountered signup issue will try again.

Any users having issues with signup or trouble with emails that don't show up as SMS messages, please email GVGatewayBeta@gmail.com or post here and we will help diagnose and fix the issues as quickly as possible.

Thanks again for using GVGateway.net

  1. Did you have to look at the passwords for those having trouble to realize what characters are causing trouble?

  2. No the passwords are stored encrypted and never logged.

We saw from the logs that people were having issues with credentials during activation of accounts. From this we surmised that the issue might be related to various special characters. We then created some tests scenerios that showed a problem with single quote in passwords and other fields. After reviewing the code and some tests with an alternate version of the site we quickly found and fixed the issues with various special characters.

The problems were actually causing the encrypted stored password information to be incorrect.

At this point we believe these issues are resolved.
